Algernon: "That is a great disappointment" (Wilde 24).
McMurphy: "'Why? [...] Tell me why. [The students] gripe, [they] bitch for weeks on end about how they can't stand this place, can't stand the [work]'" (Kesey 195).
The Voice: "Because [...] it is all infinitely preferable to the one dreadful alternative" (Currie 292).
McMurphy: "'[they] ain't as crazy as all this'" (Kesey 67).
The Voice: "[they] have a better than average chance to succeed at the task for which [they] have been chosen" (Currie 5).
McMurphy: "'Okay— I never thought about that'" (Kesey 106). Algernon: Well, "I think it has been a great success" (Wilde 30). The Voice: "we wish you much good luck" (Currie 9).
Katie, I have to say I'm very impressed by your integration of quotes, I think you did a better job than me, I had to tag things on to the begining and end to make my post make sense. Anyway, I don't think Algernon needs to be anxious about you, I've always said you test with "wonderful expression."
ReplyDeleteSpot on job making this post make sense! I especially enjoyed McMurphy's line "they b**** for weeks on end about how they can't stand this place," I think we all can identify with that. I also can relate to the humorous cartoon at the top, especially in these next two weeks. Nice work, I agree with Kaleigh!
